Lou told me that this week was going to have a piece devoted to my all-time favorite attraction - I can't wait to get a chance to listen!
Figment has been my favorite character since I was 2, and over the years I have collected over 300 Figment collectibles. The original ride holds a place in my heart reserved for only the dearest and most beloved things. :-)
This is also my all-time favorite Disney attraction and I'm glad it's getting some attention!
I could talk about it all day but am going to limit myself to just this. The current version doesn't unlock that certain feel of wonder that you had exploring depths of imagination since the creativity was replaced with a handful of generic funhouse effects.
Figment is my favorite character but I can't help feeling annoyed with him in the current version of Imagination. Between his frequent interruptions and his poorly animated computer generated appearance in the attraction, I can't help feeling he misses Dreamfinder too!
As an aspiering animator, I feel the traditionally animated Figment loop from the original attraction, that is now on Figment's TV in his house in the new version, perfectly demonstrates how Figment could work in other mediums than just the attraction. He looks as though he belongs there as a traditionally animated character(and not just because his first appearance was as an animated character).
I hope they open the top floor, as suggested by recent rumors, again because it really was a great view.
Great job on the discussion guys, and I look forward to the next!
I agree with John . . . there is something "not quite right" about Figment in the current attraction. Figment is full of wonder and delight, but right now he's mainly a troublemaker.
