Visit 2619 Hyperion!

From 1927 until 1952, the Hyperion Station Branch of the Los Angeles Public Library was located exactly one block west of the location of Walt Disney's Hyperion Avenue Studios, the address of which, 2719 Hyperion Avenue, we celebrate and commemorate here. We have no doubt that throughout the 1930s, Disney artists and staff likely patronized this small but noble establishment.

In honor of that obscure, but still potentially notable association, 2719 Hyperion presents 2619 Hyperion, inspired by the actual address of the Hyperion Station Branch. We have created 2619 Hyperion to serve as resource for the cataloging and reviewing of printed material relating to the life of Walt Disney and the history of the Walt Disney Company.

There we have collected reviews from the 2719 Hyperion Archives, and added the extensive collection of reviews from Imaginerding.com. Going forward, reviews presented on 2719 Hyperion will be archived there.

Hidden amidst the upper floor business venues on Main Street USA is the Hyperion Film & Camera Exchange. It claims to possess the world's largest film library and provides daily screenings at 4 p.m.

In honor of this most notable and auspicious company, we at 2719 Hyperion have collected our archived motion picture, cartoon and media reviews and articles together under the Hyperion Film & Camera Exchange banner. Going forward, reviews and articles presented on 2719 Hyperion relating to Disney film and movie-based entertainment will be archived there.

Visit Hawkins Strongbox

"On October 17, 2003, a large iron strongbox, dated from the late 19th century, was discovered in the basement of a small house in Duquesne, Pennsylvania. The house was once owned by my grandfather, Cedric Pepper. The house was sold following his death in 1987. The subsequent owner returned the strongbox to my family, as my grandfather was the house's only previous occupant. That was the beginning of my association with the enigmatic and wondrous Hawkins Strongbox."

Though not specifically Disney-related, Hawkins Strongbox is not unlike a virtual theme park attraction. Crafted with rich history and extensive details, it can remind one of the efforts that Disney Imagineers put forth to create wholesale environments for their best attractions.
