The gang of characters is quite surprising and exciting: Mickey, Oswald the Lucky Rabbit, the Gremlins, the Phantom Blot and many more. What is intriguing is that Spector originally refused to do a game involving Mickey. He felt that Disney had"...done an incredibly good job of making Mickey lame and irrelevant to anybody over the age of eight over the last 30 years." Disney told Spector they wanted him to reinvent Mickey.
"Disney scared the pants off me when I was a little kid. Disney needs to scare kids!" --Warren Spector, Game Informer Magazine, p. 65

That quote he said about Mickey is not entirely. The preschool series aside, I thought they made Mickey alittle more adventous than say back in the '50's.
His adventurous is more highlighted in the comics. Some of his comics from overseas that were recently reprinted in the now defunct Gemstone line even share some of the dark tones of the upcoming game.
It had to be the Wii, didn't it? It does look very intriguing. Let's see how many people get up in arms about it.
Aha! Another reason for me to finally break down and buy a wii. Is there a rating on the game yet?
Since when did Disney get so dark?
Are they trying to fit in with the times? That is why I liked Disney to begin with - they did NOT try to fit in with every fad.
If Disney goes "real", I will be real gone.
Oh, and has anyone seen the new video by Miley Cyrus called Party in the USA? Apparently Disney is also promoting that teens dress like tramps, too.
Walt must be doing somersalts right now.
The pessimism is totally unnecessary, Anonymous.
There's no cause for alarm.
Miley Cyrus puts on a short skirt and heels and suddenly she's a tramp. Check your old sixties Disney clips and notice the micro minis on the dancers at the theme parks and rethink those statements. If you want to dump on her, dump on her for something she does really badly, like her show in general. (And still, not her fault.)
Also, Disney has always had a dark side. Watch Sleeping Beauty, Snow White and Fantasia again. You can't really have enemies if they aren't the exact opposite of your heroes.
Sorry, didn't know I had to totally agree with everything Disney does or shut up.
I have always thought the giant clock on It's A Small World was a little sinister, myself.
